Protein { stuffed } French Toast

by Healthy Diva on September 17, 2011

Good Morning !

I was SO happy to have Mike home last night! He was starving when he got here and…

We have nothing here to eat really  8-O

So good old fast food it was

Jimmy John’s for him  :-D

AND why does Jimmy John’s close so early here? Close at 7pm!

In Chicago its open til 2 am! Wish they were open later here

I got a salad at Salad Club, its a place where you make your own salad

Its ok, they don’t have tons of options, and its overpriced

I added my  own Annie’s Lite Honey Mustard dressing as well  ;-)

We picked up a 4 pack of White Zinfandel, our favorite brand of that wine

Hey, cheaper is not always bad, I like the cheaper wine  ;-)

I ended the night with Edy’s Pumpkin Ice Cream with Cinnamon Puffins

Best idea ever to add those with it! YUM!

This morning, I had my plan set in my mind for breakfast, had bread that needed used up!

French Toast, but not just any  :-D

I mixed cinnamon, stevia, and egg whites together to dip the 2 pieces of  bread in

( I used Millet Bread  )

and when it was done, I stuffed those two pieces  :-D

Protein Stuffed French Toast with Dried Cinnamon Fuji Apple Crisps and Granola

After I cooked the two pieces of Millet  bread on the skillet, I made protein frosting

 {  Sunwarrior Vanilla + Almond Milk+ Almond Butter was the combo }

I spread a BUNCH of protein frosting in the middle of the 2 pieces and added some dried apple crisps in between too, then put them together, spread more frosting on top, more apples and granola too!

Cover with some maple syrup as well  ;-)

My favorite almost gone granola, Lovegrown Apple Walnut Delight  :-D

The Protein French toast was FANTASTIC! Why did I never do this before ?

I savored EVERY bite

Ok, go make this for breakfast NOW! I can always come host a protein french toast party  :-D

Have a beautiful and yummy filled Saturday!

What is your favorite french toast combination?

This one is mine now, I also love french toast with blueberries or strawberries!

Katie xoxo

Yum! I’ve only ever made stuffed french toast using fruit and/or nut butter of some sort. It looks awesome, especially with the apple crisps.

And yummy – cinnamon puffins with pumpkin ice cream. Ah, heavenly combo :)

Hey, cheap wine makes the world go round! I love my $7.00 Barefoot Moscato — its better than the more expensive brands I’ve tried ;)

that sounds so good! Why are salad places always so overpriced. Seriously sometimes salads are the only veg option but a tiny pile of lettuce is like….$8!! Seriously I could buy a bag from the store and have it be less than that. HUMPH.
Salad Frustration aside, I need to try love grown. and the pumpkin ice cream with the cinnamon puffs sounds like the perfect combo. I love the color the french toast has going on too- so creamy looking!!
I haven’t had french toast in awhile so I don’t know what combo I like…

Jimmy Johns is open until 2 AM here as well! I enjoy their sandwiches every once in a while and those BBQ chips are the best. lol.

White zinfindel is always a winner. Probably my favorite kind of wine! :)

Your protein french toast looks fabulous. I think it would be absolute perfection if made with Cinnamon Raisin Ezekiel bread and then stuffed with pumpkin protein frosting. Mmm.

Also–not the best habit but Cinnamon Puffins dipped in peanut butter=amazing.

Wowww….that’s awesome French toast. I don’t really have a favourite because I’m not a fan of the regular stuff and haven’t really tried to make it myself! But yours does look amazing. What’s the SunWarrior stuff you mentioned? Sorry if you told us before and I didn’t see! And btw, Edy’s pumpkin ice cream? How do I not know about pumpkin ice cream? You are officially the Pumpkin Pro. You know all things pumpkin. I am in awe.

wow, that’s crazy JJ’s closes so early there. I bet they’re losing out on a good couple hours of revenue, or is it in a business district?

I love french toast – ALL french toast. my grandpa used to make it with the Hawaiian bread – oh my!

happy weekend!

Your protein meals always look so delicious! How/where did you find the recipes? I have been looking at the Sun Warrior products to start adding protein to my meals and your foods always look so good! I’d love to get your input and maybe some tips on where I could find some good recipes to add Sun Warrior to.

Thanks!

Hi Terran!

Thanks for stopping by my blog! I love sunwarrior and I make up these recipes on my own, or just ones I see in the blog world! I would say having adding protein powder to a smoothie or oats is a good way to add sunwarrior, but for some meals, not all, its good to get natural protein like chicken as well ! Fish is another good source! A protein smoothie would be best after workout! I also just love having the sunwarrior in my oats in the morning, I think if you go on the actual sunwarrior site they have recipes, http://www.sunwarrior.com

If you need anything else, let me know! xoxo
