Firecracker { day }

by Healthy Diva on October 14, 2011

You guys are seriously AMAZING!

If you want to read some wonderful comments form beautiful readers, who share a similar struggle I do, or have wise words, please see my last post!

Thank you to all who took time to comment on it, love you guys!

I got a heck of a sweaty workout in today!

I was a firecracker I should say, and a sweaty one!

{ workout }

-  40 sidekicks both right and left legs

-   dumbbell curls with 15 lb weights 20 reps

- Sumo Squats with 12lb medicine ball

- 40 jumping jacks

- Crossbody hammer curls 15 lbs 15 reps

- 2 arm tricep extensions 15 lbs 15 reps

-  Triceps kickback 12 lbs 15 reps

Repeat this circuit 3 times through!

I randomly make up my own workouts, its how I roll, and it keeps working out fresh for me!

I forgot to share food today, after my deep post this morning, my mind was a little off !

 {Breakfast }

Pumpkin Protein Overnight Oats

1/2 cup oats, 1 cup water, stevia, 1/2 cup pumpkin, flaxseed sprinkles, cinnamon

Topped with Protein Frosting! Yummmm!

Hydration before and during my workout

Zico Chocolate Coconut Water

Seriously SO good!  I love coconut water  :-D

{ lunch }

Salad Beast  :-D

Veggies, Beets, Spinach, and TVP Chunks!

TVP – Textured Vegetable Protein Chunks

Yup I put them in my salad, and yes it was great!

Hummus too!  Can not forget hummus  :-D

Mike had a random request last night, that led me to go to the grocery store for him today…

Firecracker Pops!

He randomly craved them last night, so funny how we often crave things out of no where  ;-)

So he will be  a happy man when he comes home to see these !

He loved these when he was little, so did I !

{ Questions }

Have you ever had a firecracker pop?

or

What was your favorite kind of popsicle or ice cream bar when you were little?

Mine were fudge pops, scooter crunches, and  ice cream sandwiches!

Scooter Crunches!! I my gosh, I loved those!!! And those push up pops. do you remember those? they were orange and the packaging was white with blue and yellow circles. They had a stick and you would have to push it up to eat it. :) Oh, the memories :)
I have a bottle of that coconut water in my pantry and haven’t tried it yet!

hehe yeahhh I used to eat (not firecracker) but really similar type popsicles as a wee little girl. In argentina there are sooooo many good popsicles and ice creams, and they were basically my meals! hehe

I just bought those popsicles this summer because I had a major pregnancy craving for them. I only ate one or two but my husband was totally into them and finished the pack!

My favorite popsicle growing up were called Buffalo Bills. They had a big gumball for the nose which I loved.

Yeah, I remember those from the childhood! :) When I was younger, we always made our own popsicles with juice! :)

I’ve had firecracker pops, but my fav ice cream product was always a giant chipwich. You know, those super fatty chocolate chip cookies stuffed with chocolate chip ice cream? Yeah… my mouth waters just thinking about it. ha

i read your post this morning and wasn’t sure how to respond. my dad never left but i don’t feel like we have much of a relationship as we never talk. it’s not my choice but if i don’t make the effort, there is no communication whatsoever :/

on to happy stuff: my fave pops were the Flintstones ones (creamsicle?) i loved the scooter crunch as well! drumsticks were good and the chipwich. omg. the chipwich! x

omg so you and deej have the same father story! her dad and my grammy got divorced WAY back in the day and he sucked at being a father and never stayed in touch. the last time we saw him was at caldor some random time like 10 years ago, he barely even spoke to her. so awkward! her biggest fear is that someday she’ll open up the newspaper and see his eulogy. thanks for sharing mama :)

that is crazy, and Im so sorry Deej has the same issue, I have the same FEAR! I fear a phone call one day form him saying he wants to see me because he is dying or someone contacting me about him passing, it is a fear, but I just have to continue on with life and not worry about that, and i will face that day when it comes, and know the best way to react, love you!

Did a similar work out cross-fit style – balance on one foot on the bosu (Dark Side up) while doing the upper body weights. Try it you will love it!
