Trader Joe’s is { what I got }

by Healthy Diva on November 8, 2011

So while I was out of town there was a BIG thing happening on Friday over in my little town.

I know , we get excited for little things over here in my parts, and this as exciting as it gets too, haha!

Trader Joe’s Opened!

I was so excited when I first heard the news that they were opening one 3 minutes form my new place. I have not had a trader joe’s near me when I lived in Fort Wayne, or when I lived in PA before I moved.

I was lucky to have a lot near me when I lived in Alexandria, VA. I got spoiled by it, and thats where I really fell in love with Trader Joe’s.

So what stuff did I get today…

Veggies

Spinach

Tomatoes

Fuji Apples

Three Layer Hummus

LOVE, this is so good! Trader Joe’s does have some bomb hummus  :-D

Very Cherry Berry Blend

I used to get this all the time, and so glad I can now get it again!

Salmon Burgers

If you never tried these, they are a must! I love them! I usually just top one  on a salad  :-D

Hot and Sweet Mustard

Julie always raves about it, and I love mustard, so I had to get it!

Pocket Full of Fiber Pita Pockets

These are great, for making pizzas with, wraps, or topping with protein frosting!

Organic Carrot Juice

LOVE! This is straight up JUST carrots, nothing else added to it!

Some carrot juices you buy, have other added ingredients, not this one!

Egg White Salad with Chives

A favorite of mine from there, love putting this in a wrap or on top of a salad.

Peanut Butter and Oat Bars

A new trader joe’s product, I think they look so good!

I hope they are, and Im sure mike will like them too  :-D

What is your favorite Trader Joe’s product?

Oh, got to say their cereals are great and the peanut butter stuffed pretzels. to die for!

I shop at Trader Joe’s every week for my groceries. I love so many things in Trader Joe’s but my favorite is the bag of delicious kettle corn for $1.99! I need to buy those peanut butter filled pretzels. I never buy them because I am afraid I will eat the whole bag :-o

I have the same problem, I could eat the whole bag, they need to make snack size ones!!!

I saw that mustard on Friday and was tempted to pick some up but my loyalty to Heinz Spicy Brown Mustard kicked in lol I picked up some of their Candy Cane Green Tea and oh my gosh… I thought Celestial Seasonings was great this is better. It has more of a candy taste to it and maybe a tad less peppermint-y. I’m sipping on some right now. :)

Exactly! The fruits and veggies are way lower than my regular grocer, so its nice to now save money on that!

I actually eat the salmon burgers in the refridgerated section. They use wild salmon, whereas I don’t think the frozen ones do….

Other loves: they have a garlic naan bread that I love. And their bruschetta sauce (also in refridgerated section). They make taste bud magic together.

I actually used to work at Trader Joes. One of the funnest jobs I’ve ever had. Good people, AMAZING benefits, and, you know, all the delicious food at my fingertips!

i almost forgot – they have a new “super spinach salad” tried it a couple of weeks ago when they were doing samples. i’m usually not a fan of spinach salads (don’t love the texture) but this one is awesome – baby spinach, quinoa, garbanzos, cranberries, pumpkin seeds, edamame, and a yummy carrot miso dressing. great texture and flavor together.

i also like their truffle brownie mix (great with tj’s choc. pb cups inserted on top, melted, then spread around as frosting), whole grain veggie lasagna (frozen), and they have a new valencia salted creamy peanut butter with sea salt that is delicious! very spreadable.
