Feels damn good { yoga }

by Healthy Diva on January 6, 2012

Good morning and Happy Friday <3

Cup of dunkin donut strawberry shortcake coffee in my heart mug to start the day  :-D

Breakfast was enjoyed quesadilla style with protein filling.

Protein Frosting Filled Quesadillas

Whole wheat pita bread cut into 4 triangles, toasted, and then fill with protein frosting. Top with a drizzle of melted peanut butter or almond butter.

I like this style of breakfast, and I ate it in about 5 minutes! Protein frosting oozing out, yum  :-D

I needed to eat early, since I have yoga at 8:30 and need to be digested for it. Hot yoga on a full belly a no no! I like to eat 2 hours before yoga, a protein filled meal, and it works for me.

Speaking of YOGA, I really have found myself loving it even more than I ever have the past couple months.

Why?

Yup that is why  ;-)

Besides feeling damn good, it has made my body stronger and my core stronger, which I am liking!

Yoga really is an amazing practice, and it works your whole body and is also great for the mind and soul.

I practice a power vinyasa flow that is in a heated room and I love it. I go about 2-3 times a week and look forward to it every time, each time I get on my mat, its a challenge and I love it. I love the results it has given me too. If you never tried yoga and are thinking about it, you should! I challenge you to!

Im off to yoga, so I have to run! I hope everyone is ready for the weekend!

Katie xoxo

Have you ever practiced yoga?

If not, would you do yoga?

A quote on yoga….

I mean the whole thing about meditation and yoga is about connecting to the higher part of yourself, and then seeing that every living thing is connected in some way.

i actually don’t like regular yoga (or maybe i just haven’t found a class/instructor that i love) but i do love bikram yoga! and you’re right.. it IS always a challenge… 90 minutes of sweating, dripping, stretching, muscles building!!

I do like hot yoga – but regular yoga is awkward for me. I need to feel like I got a good sweat out of it! I’ve yet to find somewhere in Hoboken that is reasonably priced..

Is hot yoga the same as Bikram? I want to try it but I don’t think I could be in a class for 90 minutes! I’d love to hear if they are different in any way. Thanks!

Marla, the heated vinyasa power class I take is in a 95 degree room and for 60 minutes, its great! You should look into that, Bikram is longer and a higher temperature setting!

I absolutely love practicing yoga and love the way it makes me feel and look. I get bored with workouts easily though, so recently I have been exploring Zumba and pilates.

That coffee sounds amazing. I love the mug too.

I love yoga and used to practice all the time but now I only do once every week or two. I need to get back into it because it makes my muscles so happy.

I’m not a huge yoga fan, or a fan at all, but I used to be! I prefer more sweaty workouts, so maybe I should try hot yoga one of these days!

Sign me up for your abs! I love hot yoga too but I like to get an all-rounded yoga experience so I always go to different ones, from hatha to vinyasa to anusara-inspired, to yin to hot…anything and everything! In winter though, hot is my best friend :) . I tend to take a break from it in summer.
