Pilates and {chili }

by Healthy Diva on January 3, 2012

Today I was locked in due to snow, I made it to the bank and was lucky enough to make it back. Our hill I shall name “death hill” it is horrible. I can not wait until we move into a house, or just anywhere away from the hill of death! I will be locked in on every snowy day, because of it and my car that is horrible in the snow.

I couldn’t get out to yoga, so I decided to turn to fitness on demand, and found a pilates workout…

Got to break in my new yoga mat I got for christmas as well  :-D

Pilates Power was the workout I chose, it was good, but nothing amazing. It was a good workout for a snowy day in, and it wasn’t killer, Im saving up my energy for insanity! We are doing our fit test Saturday, I have to be ready!

Dinner tonight is cooking away in the crockpot ( one of the best kitchen appliances to own )

Turkey Chili that is simple to make!

2lbs ground turkey, 3 tbsp chili pepper, 1 tbsp cumin, 1/4 cup red hot sauce,1 can of red kidney beans, 1 can of crushed tomatoes, salt and pepper dashes

Prep- Brown turkey in skillet, add cumin, chili pepper, salt, and pepper to it while cooking. Once turkey is cooked , throw in crockpot, add tomatoes with juice, red hot sauce, and kidney beans, set on high for 6 hours and done!

Tonight is all about some reading and relaxing  :-D

Blog name…

I have been thinking of a new blog name, but not sure what to do, Im on the fence about it. I know everyone knows me as ‘healthy diva’ so its a tough decision. I feel though my blog represents so much more such as a place of happiness, so my title is representing that and of course it ties together fitness and health too. I just have to think about it. I will share with you guys if I really think its the move to make, and would love your feedback!

Have a great night!

Katie xo

Oh my gosh! I think you should keep the name!! If anyone needs to change — it’s me…”massacre”? come on! Haha! But no, really, I love HDE. It just wouldn’t be the same! But I totally understand how you feel!

hahaha that’s hilarious Jillian!! I love your blog name, it’s so funny. :P

And it’s your choice Katie! But I like your title because it’s so simple, yet it still describes a lot about what kind of blogger you are. And I’m so happy to have met you too! You are so genuine as well, and so easy to talk to. <3

You’re mentally and emotionally healthy too, which are very obviously reflected in your writing!

I nixed the gym for an at home workout tonight too – silly Pittsburgh weather.

Yeah the weather is better today thankfully! You will have a easier drive downtown!

Happy&Healthy Diva perhaps?! ;) Though your name is already great!

Turkey chili is the best kind – it’s great on a salad even, like at Wendy’s! Enjoy!

Tough decision — from a branding perspective you want to keep the consistency. But if you feel the blog goes beyond its title, maybe stick to something close like just “healthy diva” or “health nut diva” so it still related to yor current title. Just my 2 cents:).

Meredith,

Thanks so much for your feedback! I did always want just ‘healthy diva’ but it was taken and still is! Thanks so much !

I think that change can be a good thing. You’re definitely just more than a diva, so if you can find a name that reflects that and who you are…go for it! Your readers will always follow you…especially if you leave a glittery pink path. :)

I love your blog name! I think it totally fits you perfectly. :) I’m sorry I haven’t commented much lately. I’m recovering from surgery but I’m definitely getting all caught up on your posts! That turkey chili looks delish!

Not really. I’m in a ton of pain and I haven’t been back to work since before Christmas. I have a couple of doctors appointments lined up to check things out. I had to get an emergency appendectomy. Thank you so much, Katie! xoxo

Ooh a name change! How did that idea come about? I agree though that your happiness and positivity is something I really associate with you so making it more central in terms of incorporating it into your blog name is a great idea!

Well done you for a great home workout in spite of the snow! Haha being from Cayman I can drive in torrential hurricane-style rain but snow just scares me! Thankfully it’s been a very mild winter in Vancouver so far – knock on wood!

I have been thinking about it for a while, but maybe healthy diva should stay, it has been my name from the start : )

Oh, lucky you for having great driving skills in bad weather!

I hope the snow melts soon! The Hill of Death sounds frighteningly scary! Haha. Maybe you can escape the house by sledding down it? No need for workout DVD’s either…You’d get your heart pumping climbing back up! ;-p

Chili sounds and looks so delish. I haven’t made it in a looong time, but you’ve definitely kicked off a craving over here. :)

I LOVE your blog name, but completely understand your interest in changing. The most important thing is that it represents YOU and what you want to convey to your readers! If your heart is leading you in another direction, go for it! So many bloggers have done it with success, so if that’s what you decide to do, you don’t have to worry about losing readers. Either way, we’ll all keep reading because we love you!! <3

Miss you too! (And let me know if you need those Luna bars sent to PA!) xoxo

The hill of death is so scary and stressful! I shouldn’t of even left yesterday to try to go anywhere, but luckily I made it to the bank and back safe!

I love the name too, I think it should stay, I was just thinking about changing it : p

I hope I find them too! You do not need to send me any, Im sure I will scope them out here!

I like you blog name, but I agree that your blog has evolved beyond mere healthy eating and now encompasses more of your life.

If you wanted to switch the name, I would suggest: Viva La Diva

Viva means “life” and your blog now focuses on more of your life, plus it plays on the phrase “viva la difference” which speaks to your philosophy of celebrating the different ways that people choose to live. And it’s fun to say with Diva!
Hope you like it,
Tracey
