Sushi and Exchange <3

by Healthy Diva on February 12, 2012

Good morning!

Last night was sushi fabulous I must say! Mike and I left the place with sushi bellies! The best kind to have!

We went to a place we love called Ichiban. We love it here because of their AMAZING special roll selection, they have so many. It was hard to choose 4 rolls, we had so many that we wanted.

Mike was the man on choosing the 4 rolls, I had to agree with them too of course  ;-)

I of course would agree to any rolls , I was so hungry!

We both started off with squid salads, they have the best tasting ones at Ichiban.

If you never tried a squid salad, you should. I know it sounds scary, but its oh so good! I got Mike to try one on our first date and he loved it. Oh and thats why I knew he was a winner, haha!

We got 4 amazing rolls! The one with the tempura flakes in front was our favorite! It had jalapeno in the middle and was awesome!

The rolls were…

Beauty and the Beast Roll, Insiders Roll, Fusion Roll, and TNT Roll!

I love the names of sushi rolls, so fun!

____________________

When we devoured our sushi, we decided to have wine at home instead because of the weather. We came home also to do our valentine gift exchange. We wanted to do it last night since Tuesday Mike works a long day and it is hectic during the week.

I always get Mike 2 cards for every holiday, so I am saving the funny one to give him on Valentine’s Day  :-D

I got him Hangover 2, a movie we had to add to the collection.

I think he was most excited about the clif mojo bars, haha!

We just get each other some little things, he enjoyed the other stuff as well! Its always fun to do!

Mike got me a new pink heart pillow! I was SO happy! There is a story with this too…..

Our first Valentine’s Day together, Mike got me a pink heart pillow from target, just like this one but lighter and just a little smaller. The heart pillow has been by my side since that day almost 4 years ago, I sleep with it every night. It has gone from PA to DC to Indiana, and BACK to PA with me. I am attached to it like a child is attached to a baby blanket or stuffed toy they have.

Gross part, I can’t even believe I am typing this, it has never been washed!! I know so gross! It actually looks a little brown instead of pink in areas because of that! I told Mike a few weeks ago about washing it, but then told him it might not be the same if I do. So yeah I have a dirty heart pillow that I love, haha! I am happy though I have a new one to love now that is clean, I am sure 4 years from now I will be telling you about how that one is gross and dirty too, lol.

Did I really just write a book on a damn dirty heart pillow?! Yeah I did, haha!

Mike told me there was something special in a bag inside that bag and I was excited, and he told me to wait while he learned how to use the damn camera, that is my impatient but nice face  ;-)

The look he caught was priceless, lol! You see I get excited like a 3 year old over things, I am a kid at heart!

He got me the limited edition red hello kitty from build a bear! As you see, I adore her!

Mike said he loves me very much and he does not want to go by himself to build a bear again, lol!  I asked him if he put the heart in there, he said he kissed it, made a wish, the girl made him rub his tummy and head, and he said he did it to make her happy because she seemed like it meant so much to her if he did. He said she was a employee who really loved that job and she almost made him give hello kitty a bath, but he drew the line there, lol!

So funny, oh I love him for going through the build a bear ritual for me!

The night ended with wine….

and it may have had some cork pieces in it due to my wine opening skills

I didn’t even finish my whole glass, but it was so good. I have been drinking less due to Insanity, I just do not want to be having a wine headache and having to do Insanity, not a good combo!

Ended the beautiful night with some damn good chocolate  :-D

Happy Sunday everyone! I hope your weekend was great so far!

Katie xoxo

Questions of the Day….

Do you have a certain item you are attached to? Please say its a gross pink pillow like me, haha!

What did you do last night?

p.s. Exciting news coming tomorrow! <3

Looks like you two had a super sweet night! That’s hilarious about Mike’s experience at the Build a Bear!

I have a stuffed bear that I’ve had for years and years and years since being little, and its stuffing is all packed in and it looks like its bear skin is all loose, haha! It’s so sad looking but I’d never get rid of it!

Love the pink heart pillow!!! I need one of them. Met the girls last night for a night out, it ended up being quite a late night, didn’t get home until 4am so a little tired today. A lot of fun though xx

I wanted to buy that pillow to use as a cat bed! Haha. It’s very cute.

I love your face in the Hello Kitty pictures. Priceless. :)

Last night? I cooked dinner (coconut curry tofu + veg, added chicken for my bf), watched Jersey Shore, and worked on the final details of my new blog.

Reply

14 Healthy Diva February 12, 2012 at 1:56 pm

Actually that would be a good cat bed, haha!

Your dinner sounded amazing, I need to be more creative with meals, but I just eat what I crave and its usually a salad, lol. One day when I get a house maybe I will eat a variety, I have no inspiration for being creative it seems : p

Yay for starting a blog, keep me posted! : )

What a fun night!!! I am very jealous of the sushi, it looks sooo good!

Last night my fiancé and I went on a date to this amazing Korean BBQ place in Chicago where we went on one of our first dates three years ago! And then we got ice cream across the street, same as that first date! :) It was fun to relive!

Your night looks like so much fun <3 You two are so cute!

I remember the first time I saw a Build a Bear in Australia and I said out loud "what's that?" My husband was like NO, we're not going in there!! Apparently, before me, he dated this girl who said she had never had a stuffed animal, so he went into Build a Bear to get one. He didn't realise he had to actually stand there and make this thing! So what was supposed to take him two minutes actually took him an hour. Mike must really love you!! Haha

Oh yea, still have my baby blanket. Nate think its so gross, yet he steals it from me all the time! I used to take it on trips with me even, but have to refrain myself. It’s just a comfort thing I guess!

We watched Breaking Dawn pt 1 last night….guilty pleasure for sure. I don’t even admit that to most people!

The sushi looks SOOO good. I devoured two rolls plus tuna sashimi Friday night. You’re right–sushi bellies are the best. :-p

Okay, so I’m going to text you once I’m finished commenting, but can you chat TONIGHT?! I’m finishing a research paper, but have to be done by 8:00 and can chat afterwards. Muuuaaah!! xoxo

this post is so precious :) You and Mike are the epitome of true, pure love. Your gifts to one another just show how much you CARE and mean to one another. It drives me crazy when couples just use valentines day as an excuse to exchange super expensive but kind of meaningless gifts. Sure, a $300 necklace is nice, but it’s not what the holiday is about. V-day should be about celebrating how much you love your significant other. Save the expensive goods for my birthday ;)

p.s. the candid shot is absolutely adorable. You are such a genuinely happy person, Katie! It’s so beautiful!

Thank you Jenny, your comment is SO sweet and SO meaningful to me!

It is true, you can not put a price on true happiness or true love, its the best thing ever! We are just grateful to have each other, Anthony, and lots of loving family and friends in our lives, that is all that matters! Sure we all like to get spoiled, I love lululemon and such, but its not what brings me true happiness, my heart is full because I love who I am and love my family <3 The love I get back from them too is what makes me so happy <3

Love you!
