Baby G 23 Weeks!

by Healthy Diva on February 27, 2013

The weeks are officially flying by and I am officially growing rapidly!

23 weeks 610x1024 Baby G 23 Weeks!

I am carrying very high and it’s funny because I think I will be all baby just like I was when I was carrying my son. Who knows though, would be nice to get some booty growing too, haha!

Just 3 weeks ago we found out Baby G was a boy at our gender reveal

IMG 6438 Baby G 23 Weeks!

I am officially feeling pregnant this week I must say! No more bending over to put my shoes on, I have to sit now to do that, got a bump a lump in the way, haha!

Baby G This Week

  • Over 11 inches long and over 1 lb! Baby G is the size of a mango!
  • Blood vessels in the lungs are developing this week.
  • Baby is really hearing well! I am going to start playing some soothing music or lullabies to see if that will cause the baby to move around! I want him to dance a little in there, haha!
  • Baby G has been moving lots! I have felt big kicks a couple times this week and it made me jump!

How Diva Mommy is Feeling

  • I feel great, the best I have felt! The past few weeks I have felt great except for when I got sick!
  • Peeing, lotssssssssssss. I know this is only going to get worse!
  • Rashes have popped up on my chest, very itchy! I have been using my boob tube cream to help.
  • Backaches, not too bad but they happen here and there.

Weight Gain? I have no idea how much more I have gained since my last month appointment, I don’t really care to weigh myself, no need to! I find out my weight gain each month at my dr appt! I have one again March 13th!

Cravings? Salmon, chocolate, and veggies!

Food Aversions? Well coffee is not a food!  Hot coffee, not having it! Yes I do drink 1 cup of coffee a day, or did anyways. Past 2 weeks coffee hot is a no, iced coffee has been better but I don’t really have it that much unless I crave it. Yesterday I did, so I got my fix!

Mood? I have been happy, but also have been scaring myself too! I had a dream last night that my water broke while Mike was at work and I was freaking out because I was so scared. I have to admit I am scared for labor, nobody likes pain, but what a blessing that comes out of all of the pain!

Best Moments? Feeling Baby G karate kick twice this past week, seriously he was kicking hard! I was in the back seat of my sisters car when he kicked on Sunday and I jumped and was like whoa! My sisters thought it was so cool and it was, just scared me at first! A human kicking you from the inside is a weird feeling, but so cool!

Stretch Marks? Nope, still staying stretch mark free!

Maternity Clothes? I really have not got any since my early purchases a while ago, but I am going to buy some more tanks, leggings, and get a couple maxi dresses off old navy maternity this week! I want to find a dress to wear for my shower in April too! I think I am going to wear a maxi dress for that, target has some short length maternity dresses that are cute too though!

Movement? Like I said, karate kicks going on and Baby G is always moving a lot! I have seem to find his pattern of when he likes to move around and is up, so its pretty awesome!

Labor Signs? None, keep praying for a healthy and full term baby daily too!

Belly Button In or Out? What do you call a almost out but still slightly in?! Lol.

Wedding Rings Off or On? On still!

Fitness Going On

I worked out 5 days last week, woop woop! I am taking advantage of being as active as I can while I am still feeling good and not that big yet! I plan on 5 days this week too, I always make sure to listen to my body, so that is my main goal!

I have been dong weight routines with cardio bursts, walking I got in yesterday,  lots of squats, and Tracy Anderson Month 5! Month 5 is killer on the booty, I better have a nice booty after baby, haha!

Registering for BABY stuff! I did go to Target last week and register for some stuff, nothing big or major, just wanted to have the target option for people, especially out of state family and friends too!

Mike and I are going to Babies R Us on Friday and I am sure we are going to be LOST! My son is 13 years old, so it has been a long time since I have bought anything baby needs related, so I am going to need help! We are excited and also just want to make sure we get things that are *essential* to have!

Will be a long and fun night in baby land I am sure  icon wink Baby G 23 Weeks!

So there is the 23 week update, before you know it, I will be posting a picture of Baby G! He will be here soon!

Moms or Expecting Moms…

What are items that you feel are essential and needed to be on the registry?!

We could use any help, tips, and advice! I want to make note of things you guys say that are top registry adds so I can bring with me Friday!

3 Katy @ HaveYouHurd February 27, 2013 at 8:53 am

Katie I am the first of my close friends to have a baby so I am kind of in the same situation as you – NO IDEA what to register for! I did some research through blogs, lists online, and the few people I do know who have children and came up with a pretty comprehensive list. I’m sure I won’t use it ALL and I’m sure there will be things that I left off but I’m pretty sure I got a lot of it covered!

You can check out my registry at – Katy Hurd!

You look great! I am 17 weeks pregnant tomorrow and cannot wait to have a bump (right now I look like I ate too many cookies!). How many weeks were you when you first felt baby G move? I am so looking forward to that moment!

7 Healthy Diva February 27, 2013 at 10:27 am

CONGRATS!! So exciting! I really have started feeling him move TONS the past two weeks! This week, he has been kicking, I can even see movement!

8 Sarah February 27, 2013 at 10:19 am

9 Healthy Diva February 27, 2013 at 10:26 am

Thank you! With my son I really didn’t get big until about 7th month, thinking this pregnancy the same!

10 Erin @ The Grass Skirt February 27, 2013 at 11:39 am

I actually did a post not too long ago on baby and mommy must-haves for the first few months. Hope it helps! :)

Love reading your updates not only because are you the cutest pregnant woman, but because my best friend is at 22 weeks! She’s the first of us to have a baby and we’re going to register for stuff this week; neither of us have a CLUE what we’re doing, haha! We’ll definitely need some help from the Baby’s R Us employees :)

Looking great! I really have no clue what is a must have yet since I’m still waiting to use all my goodies… but I would say most people recommended to me a swing (I got Snug a Monkey), bouncer, Pack n Play and a Sleep Sheep.

16 Healthy Diva February 27, 2013 at 4:16 pm

Thank you! Oh a swing we have to add too, yes!!

17 eisha February 27, 2013 at 2:20 pm

18 Healthy Diva February 27, 2013 at 4:14 pm

Thanks! :)

19 Sarah February 27, 2013 at 2:34 pm

I’ve really been enjoying your blogs, I am currently 16 weeks pregnant and also am doing Tracy Anderson’s Pregnancy Project every other day in addition to walking 2 miles daily.with my dogs and 18 month old. :) I am interested in ordering some pants by Ellie (thanks to your recommendation) and am wondering how they run–not sure if I should get a small or medium.
Also, for my daughter my must-haves were a bumbo for when she was about 3-6 mos, a boppy for nursing, a bouncy seat, a swing (that plugs in, not one that is battery operated), a sound machine for her room, cloth diapers from, a Beco baby carrier, and my BOB stoller. We had the carseat attachment for the BOB for when she was too little to sit up, but that is the stroller I use the most by far. I have rarely used any other strollers, and used the Beco carrier quite a bit as well (in fact I still use it when traveling through airports, etc when I need to be hands free). Keep up the great, inspiring work!

20 Healthy Diva February 27, 2013 at 4:14 pm

Sarah, congrats to you! You are not too far behind me! Such an exciting time and I have to say it goes SO fast! I swear yesterday was when I found out I was pregnant, soon he will be here!

Thank you for ALL the awesome registry tips! I very much appreciate it so much!!

As far as the ellie pants, I believe my pants were a small/medium in the capris! Either that or a medium large! I can double check for you! They fit nice and stretch, which is great for a growing belly!

21 Becky February 27, 2013 at 3:42 pm

Since my family offered to buy most of the essential big things (crib, stroller, car seat), I used my registry for the non essential fun things, like a wipes warmer, baby bullet for making my own baby food, etc. people will always buy clothes and blankets.

22 Renee February 27, 2013 at 6:07 pm

Loving the onsies – oh so cute:) Your rockstar is jamming – moving and shaking it up! Happy Bump Day

23 Hayley February 28, 2013 at 12:59 pm

A comfortable gliding chair is a must, you’ll be spending a lot of time there. A swing is another must!! I love the baby dede sleep sacks. Also a cute diaper bag for momma ;) I love my jujube bag.

24 Healthy Diva February 28, 2013 at 5:57 pm

I know, do you have a particular gliding chair you love?! Thank you!

25 Hayley February 28, 2013 at 6:13 pm

I got a luca glider from monte design. It was pricey but its so nice that we could easily still use it when when the baby is older either in his room or ours as a great reading chair. I also got the ottoman.
It is super comfortable and I love that you can customize the colours.

Here are my top 3′s:

1. Zip-up PJ’s were a lifesaver for me. It made it easy to change diapers while half asleep in the middle of the night. I preferred these over the snap button-up ones. With the button-up ones, you have to make sure you lineup the snaps properly. I cannot stress enough what a pain in the ass that was, especially when sleep deprived.

2. Kiddopotamus SwaddleMe. O.M.G. my daughter lived in these at night for the first 3 months of her life. Such a comfort for her, and me! (BTW, have you watched, “The Happiest Baby on the Block” yet? If not, borrow it from your library ASAP. Lots of great tips!)

3. Regular ‘ole humidifier, nothing fancy and or in the shape of an animal. Sure the animals are cute and all, but I cannot tell you how many friends of mine got the frog or elephant humidifiers, and all of them broke or don’t get the job done. We have a Vicks 1-gal. Cool Mist Evaporative Humidifier, and it’s still alive and kicking. This is after my daughter bullying it around when she first moved into her toddler bed and decided to investigate it during nap time.

On another note, have you read Baby Wise? That book was a wonderful resource when my daughter was a newborn.

27 Healthy Diva March 2, 2013 at 10:45 am

Thank you SO much! Yes, the humidifier I did put on my target registry!

We got swaddle things on our registry last night too, thanks for that!!

Never read that book or heard of it, I will have to download on my kindle! Thank you!

28 Susan Thira March 2, 2013 at 10:40 am

My gosh…I wish I lived in America! we don’t have baby showers in the UK! they would come in handy!!! We are probably going to end up with baby clothes and gift vouchers from friends and family when baby arrives! Well done for choosing the stroller….I like the bugaboo in blue!! I got the maxi cosi car seat with my Uppababy stroller…. it’s really good! xx

29 Healthy Diva March 2, 2013 at 10:44 am

Congrats to you Susan!!! When are you due?
Hey, you could start a baby shower trend there!!! :)

Yes, I saw great reviews on the maxi cosi! Glad to hear you approve too! :)

30 Susan Thira March 2, 2013 at 10:49 am

Due July 3rd (according to NHS nurse) but when I had a private scan they said I’m due 29th June! so somewhere around there!! I follow you on instagram by the way! I’m the one who recommended the Uppababy vista stroller :)

You look great by the way … every time I see a photo of you working out I remember I must go and do something active myself :) thanks for inspiring me :) I am starting to get back ache so I really need to stay active!!
