Yesterday was a long day, but the days are always long with this little man!
Worth every minute, and worth the no sleep for sure, Man I am a zombie today, Rocco had a rough night. I was up late doing the baby food making thing, sweet potato and broccoli batches.
Rocco is ready for more than pureed food, so we will be trying some food out this week. I have done scrambled eggs in little pieces and toast with jam. We are going to try some other stuff, so we shall see!
Yesterday I got a great cardio workout in while Rocco napped. I should of napped too, haha! Got to be productive when baby is sleeping!
I was pretty bright yesterday
After my workout I tried a brand new protein powder that I got sent for me to try. I was looking for a new protein to try since I was almost out of the other one I had, so perfect timing!
Ok, I am officially HOOKED.
Big Train Frappe protein is delicious! The chocolate was so good, and I was surprised I loved it so much just being mixed with water.
I mixed half packet of powder, water, and shook up in a cup. Poured over a cup of ice and enjoyed!
Win! There are other flavors I have to try too, so I am excited to see how they rank next to the chocolate. Seriously the chocolate was amazing. I am so glad I found a new protein I like, since I will be needing some more protein shakes in my life with something I am doing soon!
After my workout I got dinner ready!
I made a batch of really delicious turkey chili yesterday in the slow cooker. I was very productive I shall say 😉
This turkey chili recipe I found on pinterest somewhere, and was excited to try since it had garbanzo beans in it. Never had a chili with those included!
Some of the ingredients ( minus the onions and ground turkey )
Slow Cooker Turkey Chili
- 1 lb ground turkey breast
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 onion copped
- 1 (28 0z ) can diced tomatoes
- 1 (15 oz) can black beans, rinsed and drained.
- 1 (15 0z) can kidney beans rinsed and drained
- 1 ( 150z) cam chickpeas, rinsed and drained
- 1 ( 4 oz ) can mild green chiles
- 1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
- 2 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tbsp cumin
Well, I am ready to start this errand full day ahead! The nanny will be here soon, and I will be off doing some running around, some blog work at home while she is here, and perhaps a nail fix. We shall see! Just nice to have one day to plan things I need to get done and don’t have to drag Rocco with me!
