Have Some Cake on Cake

by Healthy Diva on February 23, 2013

Last night was perfect. I love nights where we have no set plans, not time limit to get ready, and we can just go with the flow.  Anthony was out with my parents at a fundraiser spaghetti dinner, so we didn’t have him.

We knew we wanted to do a date night at home and wanted to just relax and have some quality time together, so we decided on a dinner we were both craving and one that was free thanks to gift cards.

Chipotle!

( I swear Baby G is going to come out wanting a burrito bowl instead of breast milk, lol! )

Chicken burrito bowls, so good!

I enjoyed every last bite, as always. Chipotle is seriously the best and I could eat it every day.

This morning I decided I wanted cake on cake for breakfast, what a combo right?

I picked up this about time birthday cake protein at giant eagle last week and was excited to use it! I wasn’t sure how it would be in a smoothie, so I decided to add it to my overnight oats.

IMG 0544 Have Some Cake on Cake

Why not more cake to throw in there too?

These babies were a Target buy last weekend, really good but obviously not filling at all! I decided to crumble half of one in my oats, oh yes.

Overnight Cake Oats!

1/2 cup oats, about time birthday cake protein, 1.5 cups almond milk, stevia, flaxseed, and strawberries.

Topped with more strawberries, better n pb, and half of a yellow cupcake zone bar!

It was delicious! I love how the birthday cake protein tasted, NEED to get more packets of that stuff, amazing!

I am on a cake high right now  icon biggrin Have Some Cake on Cake

So I am wondering if the birthday cake would be good in a smoothie form too, will have to get another packet and find out.

Happy Saturday friends!

We are getting our workouts in, headed to Ikea and some other stores around that shopping area to look for baby nursery stuff, and then we are doing a dinner out tonight!

See you tomorrow!

Chipotle is the BEST!! They are finally opening one down the street from us! We’ve missed it so much since we moved!! I always get a fajita salad with barbacoa or chicken! Yum! And I have to have a bite or two of my husbands burrito!

I’m going to look for those Birthday Cake bars today! I’m headed to Target with a good friend, it could be dangerous!

PS. It makes the best oatmeal ever. Next time add some sprinkles, it make it 10xs better lol

I loveeeee birthday cake flavored anything, ahh. I don’t do protein powders though. I’ve been wanting an excuse to make birthday cake blondies for the longest time now!

Ooh muscle milk has a cake batter protein powder that’s delicious in smoothies!! If you add strawberries, it tastes like strawberry shortcake! Add any other fruit and it just tastes like cake with fruit. Amazing stuff!!

Awesome about the burrito bowl! :-) And interesting about the protein, wish they have plant based varieties. Chipotle is fabulous, especially for vegans. I just can’t stand dining in at any of the locations in this area because there always too crowded and noisy with uncomfortable seating! Happy Saturday, hope you’re having a great day! :-)

I am obsessed with burrito bowls from Chipotle! They are always so tasty! I love how they give you guac for free if you get a veggie burrito bowl!

I’m not usually a big protein powder person, but that flavor sounds so good! I also need to pick the bars up from Target. Sounds like a great combo :) Happy weekend!

I’ve heard of About Time protein, but never tried it. Since your recommendations never fail, I think I’ll try it :D

Aaaah, stop teasing me! Cake on cake sounds perfect anytime but we can neither get that protein powder nor the bars.

While we don’t have Chipotle there’s a similar Mexican restaurant in Berlin. Whenever I’m in the city I get one of their awesome Burrito Bowls with fresh salsa, brown rice and black beans. So simple but good.

Sometimes I really wish I was in America! The only flavours of protein we get here are Vanilla or Chocolate! And healthy cake bars? No way! I’m planning to do half a year of study in the US next year, so hopefully I will be able to try these goodies!

Oh. My. Gosh. (!!) Any excuse to go to Target is a good excuse, but now I have a crazy good excuse! Those Zone birthday cake bars sound amazing! I’ve actually had three About Time protein samples sitting in my cupboard for a month or two, and I’d completely forgotten they were there until I read this post. I need to give them a try!

Yes, I ADORE Chipotle! It’s my go-to when I’m not sure what to eat, and/or I don’t feel like cooking. Your burrito bowl looks perfect!

Love you, and happy weekend!! <3 xoxo

Isn’t Chipotle the best?? So yums!

Those cake bars look amazing. I love when products are “for kids” but are just as desired by adults!

So funny! I spotted those Zone bars at Target today and spent a good 5 minutes contemplating whether or not I should try them. I was worried about them not being filling enough, like you mentioned. But, if they’re yummy, maybe I’ll buy some to add to oats or yogurt!

(:

I would love for incredible flavored vegan proteins to be out and about in the world. Most of them taste like chalk and the only one I have found I love is SunWarrior and they only have vanilla and chocolate :(

Reply

35 Renee February 25, 2013 at 6:46 pm

If I did birthday cake protein in a smoothie, I would use water or vanilla almond milk (maybe a little coconut milk), since citrus juice might not taste so great with that combo. I tried a chocolate raspberry truffle protein powder recently and tasted great, but could not do that every morning, so stuck to my vanilla. I am amazed by the flavors they come out with at times.

Omg, those little bars!! Must find!! Do they really taste like a cupcake? I’ve tried that About Time flavor and I wasn’t impressed with it at all! I made a shake out of it and thought it really just tasted like vanilla. I also got a sample of their peaches ‘n cream and mixed it in some oats (since the whole shake thing before didn’t go so well) but it was very gritty tasting. :(

LOVE Chipotle! The man-friend and I were THISCLOSE to going on Friday night, but we decided to get pizza instead! And I always get the burrito bowls with the cilantro lime rice…that stuff is PURE CRACK! I’ve tried to make it at home, but just can’t seem to get the ratios right!
