Happy Saturday friends! Hoping your weekend kicked off great!

I left you guys off with breakfast yesterday, which was delicious, and so was lunch thanks to Mike!

Mike worked a half day since we had the geek squad coming to our house and he picked me up this lovely bowl of heaven

A chipotle steak burrito bowl, damn good!

IMG 5286 Might Be Back

Seriously could eat chipotle every single day. I really am on a mexican food kick with this pregnancy too, so every day chipotle would be fabulous!

Mike got a burrito that seriously weighed 2 lbs, huge!

After lunch and after the geek squad guys came and did their job, I went to take a beautiful hour nap. I rarely take naps, even since pregnancy, I just don’t because I don’t want to ruin my sleep at night.

Yesterday was perfect just for an hour and I woke up refreshed!

Hungry I was again after that nap, my burrito bowl had time to digest, haha!

Cheddar soy crisps I was craving, love these things so much! I should just buy in bulk on amazon, best site ever!

Dinner was brinner last night!

Roasted red potatoes, egg scramble, turkey bacon, and ketchup!

Rest of the night was spent watching Chopped reruns with my love, we love that show! I love seeing how creative people get with very weird ingredients. Chopped also can make me hungry too, last night there was an episode where they had to animal balls as part of their appetizer. Ok, that did not make me hungry, lol!

I was in bed at 9:30 pm, such a rockstar! Damn how things change over time as you get older! I used to be heading out on the town at 9:30 pm with my girlfriends back in the day.

******

This morning I had something for breakfast that Baby G was not having in the past month and a half. I wrote about it in my pregnancy post yesterday, but it might be back…

Cereal with almond milk!

Special K protein plus cereal with stevia, silk almond milk, and blackberries!

IMG 5320 Might Be Back

You have to really listen to your body when you are pregnant, certain foods you will hate that you once loved and you just have to know what is going to make that baby happy. I was not able to eat my cereal with almond milk for a while, only dry cereal didn’t make my stomach turn.

I woke up feeling like it was a cereal with milk day and I enjoyed it very much! Guess the baby is over the no milk and cereal phase, yay!  icon biggrin Might Be Back

Oh the little things in life that get you so excited, dork alert  icon wink Might Be Back

Well I am off to relax a little and then head off for a 45 minute walk around the neighborhood for my workout today. Mike is off to the PITT basketball game and then we are getting take out or dining out for dinner since Anthony will be at his paps. We are not sure what we are craving for dinner, so it will be a decision made last minute I suppose!

Enjoy your Saturday friends!

Healthy Diva Asks…

What type of food could you eat every day? I seriously have to say mexican could be it for me, I always thought sushi but I think I would get sick of the raw fish overload.

Do you watch chopped or have another favorite show on Food Network you watch? Mike and I always loved chopped and we agree that a couple of the judges on there are so mean! Alex the girl judge on there can be a meanie and there is that guy judge Scott who is a jerk too!

 Special K Winner is ……

#298 Brittney House! Congrats and please email me your shipping info so I can send it off to Special K! Thanks to all that entered!

I could (and do!) eat oatmeal every day for breakfast. Just the thought of the warm delicious bowl helps get me out of bed in the morning!

Happy Saturday Katie! Enjoy your walk–I really want to go for one today too, but right now it’s -2 and its only going to get colder and more windy as the day goes on:-(

I could eat breakfast foods all day long (and I do most of the time) ;-)

I have been reading your blog for a while, but have never commented. I have noticed you eat a lot of soy products. Have you ever looked into the negative side effects?? This is just one article. http://healthtalkwomen.com/sarahs-column/oh-soy-bad-the-ugly-truth-about-soy/

It might be worth looking into.

Congrats on the baby!!!

Thank you SO much for sharing that! I hear too much soy is not great, I really don’t eat soy too much actually, I meant those soy crisps I eat once a week, but am addicted to them! Thank you though so much!

Mexican and sushi are my two favourites, so I think either of those daily would make me extremely happy.

If we had Chipotle around here (or Dolores, the German equivalent which is only located in Berlin, though) I think I’d feel like having it every day, too.
Other than that banana oat bran with cocoa and almond butter never gets old for me :) .

Hope you have a nice walk!

I think I could eat cereal or oatmeal everyday. I’ve been loving blackberries with my cereal and oatmeal too, lately. Have a wonderful weekend!

Mexican for sure! I think I do eat some form of it almost everyday, salsa gets dumped on everything around my house ;) Hope the cereal cravings stick around for you, such a great go-to breakfast!

I could most definitely eat Mexican everyday – I love all the different flavours and textures. I don’t think I could ever get sick of sushi, pizza or ice cream either.

It’s crazy for someone’s who has never been pregnant to imagine not wanting foods I love but I have heard that happens! I food I could and do eat every day is peanut butter!

Reply

16 Allison @ Life's a Bowl January 12, 2013 at 11:16 am

I could eat breakfast for breakfast [haha], lunch, and dinner- so good and so many options, never gets dull! Slather on some nut butter, add some avocado, spice things up with some salsa… Yum! I haven’t had Chipotle forever, no real reason, but a new location is opening up .5 miles away from us- perfect walking distance ;) Happy weekend!

Oh goodness, I LOVE Chipotle too! It was one of my early pregnancy cravings as well actually. I could eat Mexican pretty much every day as well. That and peanut butter (which I do!). :)

18 Devon @ Health in Equilibrium January 12, 2013 at 12:49 pm

That burrito is massive! It’s funny how you can not want something at all one day and then crave it like crazy the next. The foods that I could eat every day? Peanut butter, apples and winter squash, and of course my oats!

I was asleep by 9pm last night, and I was JUST saying the same thing to a friend this morning – I used to be just getting ready to go out at that time!

The first time I ever had Chipotle, I ate it at least once a day for a week – sometimes twice!

happy weekend, mama!

Mmm your Chipotle bowl looks so good! Chipotle seriously needs to start opening stores in Canada.

I watch Chopped in the background sometimes, but I never really sit down and watch a full episode. Diners, Drive ins and Dives and Jamie at Home are my favourite shows on that channel. :D

That’s so cool! I feel like you and I have so many similarities in ouur likes and dislikes during pregnancy. I too loved chipotle for at least a week during my 1st trimester. Then I moved on, but I still love Mexican food especially if it’s authentic. I think I could eat fish everyday (I eat too much of it but only a few times/week right now) as well as Mexican or Peruvian. :D Katie I have a question–in your first pregnancy did you have crazy cravings or did your appetite skyrocket? Mine has been morning sickness at first with no vomiting, and now in 2nd trimester I like food but I’m not crazy about it like my usual self. Sometimes I have to force myself to eat because nothing sounds good.

Reply

23 Healthy Diva January 12, 2013 at 2:07 pm

I know this sounds horrible, but I don’t remember lots of details with first pregnancy. I was only 17, the father put me through hell and heartache my whole pregnancy, and I wasn’t mature and appreciated it and understand it as I do now.

I did get morning sickness with Anthony in my first trimester, I had vomiting, this pregnancy did not have that.

Its funny, because I have to make myself eat at night the past few weeks. I seriously do not have an appetite once night hits, so its weird! Pregnancy does crazy things to your body! I am so excited for both of us! <3

I think it’s a close call between mexican and afghan food! I love them both SO much!

I love to watch Chopped. It’s amazing what those people can do with such random ingredients.

I have never had afghan food, would love to try one day!!

Yes it really is amazing what they come up with!

Type of food or food…if I had to pick one item it would be roasted kabocha squash with with SunButter a close second. Type of food I’d go curries, there is just so many possibilities when your making your own, and I love a side of sweet short grain coconut brown basmati! :)

The food network was like food porn to me when I was pregnant. I couldn’t stop watching. My husband finally had to cut me off bc it would make e soooo extra hungry all the time!

I definitely could eat Mexican everyday too. I’m not a huge foreign cuisine lover. I like really simple foods! Like oatmeal, sweet potatoes, coconut butter, those types of things:) Glad cereal looks like it will be back in action! I’m kind of jealous you were in bed by 9:30 haha. I should be in bed at that time! xoxo Have a great Saturday love!

I hate napping! There are days where my body can’t take it and I end up napping, but I always find myself waking up grumpy. I always feel like I wasted the day. I forgot to mention, I don’t know how to “cat nap,” my naps are 4 hours long, haha.
