Put On A Happy Face

by Healthy Diva on February 2, 2013

When the going gets tough, hard times arrive, your heart feels so heavy, and you are waiting for what seems like hours to hear good news or bad news…..

I want to thank you all for your love, prayers, and support the past couple days. The power of prayer is so strong, the power of faith, hope, and positivity are so strong as well.

You see, in my life, my FAMILY is EVERYTHING to me. We start and end with family over here, family is everything, family is the most valuable thing anyone can have.

My mom wasn’t feeling well, thank heaven god gave her a sign something wasn’t right and mom went to the doctor to get test done, which lead to the result of something not being right inside.

Well, mom went in to hospital yesterday, we all waited, prayed, and stayed positive while what seemed like eternity and was only 2 hours. Mom thankfully had only one artery blocked, but mom thankfully had god looking over her too. Her main artery was 90% blocked, she was basically a walking time bomb ready to go off at any moment.

We are so grateful she is better now, a stent was put in and mom is doing well. We now move forward with love, support, and strength for her. Mom is now going to be in for a drastic lifestyle change, but she has us to help her and support her along the way.

You can bet healthy diva is going through her pantry and getting all the bad out, making her pantry and fridge Diva Approved!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart and all my families heart for your prayers.

You see, I have lots of love and comfort for those who have lost a parent, such as their mom, or have had hard times with their parent being sick. My heart goes out to any of you who have had to go through either situation.

I appreciate and am grateful for each day god gives me to have my parents here, they are everything to me and when something goes wrong with my mom or dad, I do crumble inside, but I also do remain positive and know god has it in his hands and just to have faith and hope.

I cherish any moments, days, or times I get with my family, because in a second or moment, that can change.

Life can drastically change at any second, so just be grateful and appreciate your loved ones every second.

Yes, family can drive you crazy sometimes, there are fights, and tough times with them, BUT enjoy every moment. You never know when those moments can be gone forever.

Happy Saturday and sorry for the deep post today, but you know, sometimes life is not always flowers and rainbows.

Love to all of you !

Katie xo

Today is a a great day for my sister Angie! My sisters and I are going to look at bridesmaids dresses to pick the ONE that is going to be the winner to wear for her wedding in December!

Angela is very excited, we are excited to be with her today and this is a very special time for her!

Oh and a sneak peak at one of her engagement pics, so so cute!

So happy to hear everything is ok! Your family is blessed to have your support. I too agree that family is everything. I believe everything happens for a reason & while it is scary your Mom had to go through what she did, her wake-up call was well enough in advance for her to regain her health. Positive prayers & thoughts still coming your way Katie.

So glad they caught it in time! My grandpa had to get a quadruple bypass, after he went in for a routine check up! Its crazy how our bodies can be like that and we do not even know, I guess that is why going to the doctor to get checked out is necessary! YAY for bridesmaid dress shopping, I did that with my sister in a law a few weeks ago, such a fun time, enjoy!

Your mom will benefit soooooo much from your knowledge and commitment to healthy living. It will be a great source of comfort and motivation for her. I’m relieved for you that things turned out as good as can be expected and I pray you all can support your mom as she moves forward with her healing.

I’m so happy your mom is doing well now. I bet you’re all so proud of her for going to the doctor when she didn’t feel right instead of just ignoring it like many people do! I always say that blessings come in disguises, and it will definitely be a blessing to your mom to have you (and your family) there to help her as she makes those lifestyle changes you mentioned.

Appreciating all of the family time we get is truly important. Yes, we might fight at times but I make sure to never leave my family’s house with unsolved conflicts. You never know when and if – hope this doesn’t sound dramatic but I’m easily anxious about these kind of things – you’ll see your family again. Showing them my love is important to me.
